- Ew, buckaroo, there's something not quite right here!
-
- Jim, I used a 14400 on an identical A3000 with ZERO problems for years,
- until I upped it to 28.8K. Now the only time I have a problem is when I
- happen to have the WB up front during a high-speed receive -- as I
- understand it, there is a bit of DMA contention for my configuration when
- I have the WB up front (I have a SEVERELY overscanned 16 color WB).
-
- At any rate, other than occasional errors in that particular situation, I
- have had zero problems with the 28.8K modem, as well. It DOES push the
- envelope, in that the system spends a lot of time moving data around, but
- it works very well.
-
- FYI, I am using a Supra 28.8K, 10 MB of RAM, and the standard plain
- vanilla serial.device from AmigaDOS 2.1. Nothing fancy. I have used it
- with Term, Terminus, TrapDoor, DLG, and Aladdin. None of these programs
- have had a problem with it. I set the serial port to 38400 (or is that
- 34800?) and off we go.
-
- Good luck!
